What are Brain Diseases – Tumors, Hemorrhages etc.

Brain diseases refer to any condition that affects the brain’s structure, function, or chemistry, leading to various neurological symptoms. These conditions can be caused by genetic factors, infections, injuries, environmental influences, or other health issues. Here’s an overview of the main types:

Brain Tumors:

Benign Tumors: Non-cancerous growths that do not spread to other parts of the brain. They can still cause damage by pressing against brain tissue.

  • Malignant Tumors:Cancerous tumors that grow aggressively and can invade surrounding tissues. These include gliomas, meningioma’s, and metastatic brain tumors (which spread from other cancers).

Brain Hemorrhages:

  • Intracerebral Hemorrhage:Bleeding within the brain tissue itself, often caused by high blood pressure, trauma, or aneurysms.
  • Subarachnoid Hemorrhage:Bleeding in the space between the brain and the tissues covering it, often due to the rupture of an aneurysm.
